DANCE CLASSES ARE OFFERED ON TUESDAYS

 

11:00 - Beginning Dance - ages 3-7:

This class will focus on introductory dance foundations, stage presence, and large motor skills using a fun, upbeat curriculum. Students will be required to perform learned material at the end-of-year performance. Students will have rented costumes and new tights for the performance ($15 rental fee due in March). Under leotards may be required for students in multiple performances and can be ordered through the instructor closer to the performance date.

Students' class uniforms and shoes will be ordered by the instructor after the start date. The fee charged will be the wholesale cost that the instructor can get, and will be about half of what you would pay if you bought everything yourself. 

Students will also need a light jacket or pull over during the winter months because the gym tends to be chilly.

Tuition is $50.00 per month for the first hourly class (discounted rate for your 2nd and subsequent classes).

 

 

1:00 - Dance Fusion - ages 8 and up, all levels:

This class will be working on various dance techniques from beginner to intermediate levels. Students will work on foundational principles, building strength through conditioning, and understanding terminology.  Students will be required to perform learned material at the end-of-year performance. 

 

Class attire: leggings, tank tops/shirts covering torso, hair pulled back, barefoot

Students will also need a light jacket or pull over during the winter months. The gym tends to be chilly. 

Tuition is $50.00 per month for the first hourly class (discounted rate for your 2nd and subsequent classes). There will be an additional costume fee at the beginning of spring semester for end of year performance.

Instructor:  Sarah Anderson

Instructor Bio:

Sarah started dancing when she was 3 years old and continued her dance education into her teenage years. During these years she switched her focus to music and attended TCU where she graduated in 2003 with a BA in Music Education. She went on to work as the music director in her church for several years until feeling called to homeschool her children full time. She has been homeschooling her 3 children for 9 years and has taught dance and music at Dominion Equippers for the last 5 years. Sarah continues to work on her own dance education through a local dance studio, and she is so excited to bring her knowledge of music and dance to Koinos!
