Welcome to Koinos!
About Us
We are the Wilson family. The first and most important thing we'd like for you to know about us is that we are a family dedicated to living out God's divine purpose for us. Our family is centered around Jesus Christ. He is the reason we do everything that we do!
The second thing we'd like for you to know about us is that we have six beautiful children, three boys and three girls, who range in age from 15 to 31. We have graduated four of our children so far, with two more to go! Our family is our greatest earthly blessing. In January of 2017, we welcomed our first grandchild to our family. She welcomed a little sister in March of 2022, and these two little ladies are the center of attention, for sure!
We've been homeschooling since 2002, and we are so thankful to live in a state with so much freedom. We try to always take the time to thank the brave homeschoolers of the 1970's, 1980's and 1990's for paving the way for us. I always tell people that homeschooling is one those things that we're "for sure" about! We know it's our calling, and we love it, even when it's challenging!
On a personal note, Michael has his degree in exercise science and is passionate about coaching. He was the Defensive Coach/Coordinator for the THESA Riders varsity football team for many years. He works for Poolville ISD. Shelly has her degree in secondary education from TCU and is passionate about teaching. She serves on the Board of Directors and teaches at Dominion Equippers (DE). She also serves as the Coordinator/Head Coach for the THESA Riders tennis team. She loves to workout and be active. She is a certified Pilates instructor and loves to play tennis, as well.
In 2016, we had a lifelong dream realized as we bought land and moved to northwest Wise County. In addition to the children, we have lots of animals that think they're our kids - dogs, cats, cows, sheep, & chickens!
We love camping and traveling, as well as recreating with our extended family and friends. We believe that laughter makes life so much easier, and we try not to take ourselves too seriously. We hope to share a few laughs with your family, too!
Blessings,
The Wilson Family
