Intermediate Gymnastics ~ ages 5 through 14 ~ 9:00 a.m.

This class is for intermediate level gymnastics students.  Ideally, students should have completed at least one year of our beginning gymnastics, or had at least one year experience in another gymnastics program.  Students will be progressing in skill and difficulty on the balance beam, floor, vault and bars.  Students will be learning skills that will enable them to transition into a competitive gymnastics program in the future, if they so desire.

Our gymnastics classes are taught by a homeschooled high school student.  She has had 12 years of gymnastics training, as well as 6 years of competitive experience.  She loves children and loves to teach, which makes this class very enjoyable.  Class meets from 9:00 to 9:50 a.m.

Class tuition is $30.00 per month.  No registration or supply fees.  Students should wear gymnastics clothing, or shorts and t-shirts that can be tucked in.  Students will be barefoot during class.

Beginning Karate ~ ages 6 through 9 ~ 9:15 a.m. 

This class is intended for beginning students (white, gold, and orange belts) who are ages 6 through 9.  Having a small age range in this class will enable the instructor to work extensively with our younger karate students, which will give them the individualized attention they need to succeed.  New students will learn the fundamentals of American karate, and returning students will progress in their karate skills.  Regular belt tests will be offered.  Class meets from 9:15 to 10:00 a.m.

Our instructor is a Christian, first and foremost.  The students are taught American karate with no eastern spirituality involved.  Master Starnes trained under Pat Burleson and is a 6th degree black belt.  He has over 20 years of karate experience and is passionate about sharing his love of karate with his students.  The initial uniform cost, including imprinting, is approximately $25.00.  Uniforms are ordered after the first 30 days of class.  Belt tests are approximately $20.00 each.  Most of our belt tests at the beginning level are offered during class at Koinos.

Beginning Gymnastics ~ ages 4 through 14 ~ 10:00 a.m.

This class is intended for the student who has had very little or no gymnastics experience.  Students will grow comfortable with each apparatus as they learn fundamental skills. By the end of the semester, students will be able to perform basic gymnastics skills on each piece of equipment, as well as on the floor.  Students will have the opportunity to showcase their floor work at our Performance Night in May.

This class is taught by a high school student who trained in gymnastics for 10 years and competed in all-around gymnastics for 6 years.  She is truly passionate about children and gymnastics, so it promises to be lots of fun!  Students will work on the floor, beam, bars, mini-vault, and trampoline.  Class meets from 10:00 to 10:50 a.m.

Tuition is $30.00 per month.  No registration or supply fees.  Students should wear either gymnastics clothing or shorts and t-shirts that can be tucked in.  Students will be barefoot during class.

Intermediate/Advanced Karate (all ages) ~ 10:00 a.m. 

This class is for our karate students who have earned their green belts and higher, regardless of age.  Students will continue training in American karate and will have several opportunities throughout the year to qualify to test into higher belts.  Students will also have the opportunity to represent Koinos Karate in various tournaments.  The class will have a chance to showcase their skills in our end-of-year Performance Night in May.

Our karate classes are taught by Stephen Starnes, a Christian instructor who is a 6th-degree black belt.  This is American karate with no eastern spirituality involved.  This class teaches fitness, discipline, and self-defense.  Belt testing fees will run approximately $20.00 per test.  Most of our belt tests will be done at Master Starnes' karate studio in Bridgeport, Texas. This class meets from 10:00 to 10:50 a.m.

Beginning Karate ~ ages 10 through adult ~ 11:00 a.m.

This class is intended for beginning students (white, gold, and orange belts) who are ages 10 and above.  New students will learn the fundamentals of American karate, and returning students will progress in their karate skills.  Regular belt tests will be offered.  Students will learn basic self-defense moves, as well as basic kicks and punches.  When the students earn their gold belts, they will learn how to spar with other karate students.  Orange belt students will begin learning katas.  When the students earn their green belts, they will have the option of moving into our Intermediate Karate class.
